In 1911, Vincent Sorrentino, an Italian immigrant, registered the Sorrentino Company in Providence, RI. Eventually the name was changed to the Uncas Manufacturing Company.  Uncas became well known for its jewelry, especially rings. They are also known for producing jewelry for private labels and branded companies like Disney, Universal Studios, Coca Cola, etc. The company celebrated its 100 year anniversary in 2011. The Uncas Manufacturing Company is still in business and is now a global manufacturer and distributor of jewelry and accessories.
